A major division of a tier one automotive supplier needed to upgrade their existing computer system to a client/server environment and replace the Manufacturing Information System with a new ERP solution. They also needed to find a replacement for the routing and time standards system.

The ERP implementation team evaluated several systems. The new system had to provide pre-determined times to calculate how long it should take to complete each operation. It had to be Windows based and be able to operate with an Oracle database. In addition over 27000 part routings and 130,000 operations had to be imported.

Solution

After an extensive evaluation, the team selected EASEworks® as their solution. EASEworks was implemented and fully integrated with the new ERP system. It not only fulfilled the time standards requirement, it also provided excellent process documentation capabilities.

Results

EASEworks is used by both Manufacturing and Industrial Engineers to develop Routings, Work Instructions and Standards. Production supervisors and operators receive their manufacturing instructions directly on-line - a tremendous time saver for the company.
